Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires – Arrow of Aid: Wu
I’m not very creative when it comes to making custom characters; I usually make my characters resemble me or with features that I want. In this case, it’s features that I want, plus my current hairstyle. This is my second generation character, and Jia Chong is her father!
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires – Arrow of Aid: Wei
Dynasty Warriors 9 came out what feels like a long time ago, so when I got Empires recently, I thought I was super behind, but I’m not! I’m starting to get back into hobbies, and Empires has really helped remind me what makes me really happy, haha. It’s a refreshing feeling after being burnt out in life for so long.
I actually didn’t play much of Dynasty Warriors 9. I got it when it came out and only played it for a bit before stopping due to being burnt out from work/life. Then when I returned to play it, I got really confused over what I was last doing and haven’t played again since. I don’t know how to feel about Dynasty Warriors being open world because I was excited for it, but I was utterly confused when I was playing, and it ended up getting mixed reviews, I think. I really just want a linear path for every character at this point so I can just enjoy every character’s personalities, especially the new ones!
But I’m having a lot of fun with Empires! Maybe it’s because it’s fueling my desire to marry my favorite officers, and I take every crumb I can get, haha…
Arrow of Aid is the first event that flags a character’s interest in another person. (Basically, you’re on a hunt together when a tiger pounces on Person A. Person B shoots an arrow at the tiger to scare it away, and Person A gives their thanks but also has some thoughts about you.) Though I have yet to trigger it with two characters of the same gender (can you even trigger this scene with two officers of the same gender?), in the gallery, the default settings for this event is Ling Tong and Gan Ning, and I was like… OH?????
But it abruptly ends before the (what usually is a) romantic line, so I was, uh, a little disappointed HAHA because I would have liked to see that between Ling Tong and Gan Ning. Anyway…
During my first playthrough, I married Cao Xiu. I mean, I was on a MISSION and beelined toward him. When Dynasty Warriors 9 was first announced along with his seiyuu as Satou Takuya, I was like… MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED. I love Takuyan’s voice as Cao Xiu and am so smitten, haha.
Anyway, I’m just going to dump a bunch of screencaps of the guys and their romantic lines or my favorite scenes with them because I love Dynasty Warriors!! Now I have so many favorite officers that I don’t know what to do except marry all of them 🥰
